Activities

Children enjoy a variety of indoor and outdoor activities that teach them about nature, arts, other cultures, and social skills like problem-solving and conflict resolution at our kindergarten. Many of these activities happen outdoors, in the craft area, or during excursions in our local community.

Some of them include:

  • Learning about recycling and sustainable living
  • Maintaining the worm farm and compost
  • Regular visits from a local teacher or past students
  • Visitors from the Responsible Pet Ownership Program
  • Science week, NAIDOC week, and Book Week programs

Health and wellbeing

Children learn about basic nutrition and how to take care of their bodies at our kindergarten. We teach them about food safety, the importance of exercise, and how to make healthy choices through our programs and activities.

This includes:

  • Growing our own food in the garden
  • Discovering foods from a range of cultures
  • Empowering children to ask for what they want and when
  • Educating children and their families about healthy eating and nutrition

Family and community

All families are welcome at our kindergarten. We encourage you to participate in your child’s early learning experience by joining us on excursions, volunteering your time, helping with fundraising events, harvesting the garden, or talking to the children about exciting topics that will broaden their view of the world.

Children also get to know their local community with visits to:

  • The local primary school
  • Local service people (e.g. police, paramedic, nurse, fire and emergency services, etc.)
  • Wellbeing practitioners
  • Animal trainers or handlers

Languages

We can have all forms of communication translated for families who speak languages other than English.

Special services

Our educators are experienced in working with children who live with a range of physical and intellectual disability or have experienced challenges and trauma.
