Glassford Kindergarten provides local 3 and 4 year olds with quality early learning education and care in the lead up to school.
Positioned on a quiet street close to Dicky Bill Farm and Mafeking Hill Reserve, children learn, play and develop new skills in a pleasant, nurturing environment.
Children enrolling in our service in 2019 are eligible for the Victorian Government drought kindergarten fee subsidy.
Children develop confidence and make friends in our vibrant kindergarten environment. They learn about relationships, caring for the environment, how to share and play together, and discover the wonderful world around them with hands-on experiences that nurture their sense of adventure and creativity.
Our kindergarten features:
Fun excursions and incursions get children excited about sustainability, art, reading, history and music. By offering a wide range of activities, children can explore their passions, make wild discoveries, and meet people from all parts of the community.
Visitors, guest speakers, excursions and incursions, include:
Children learn about responsibility and sustainability by growing their own fruit and vegetables in our kindergarten garden. We teach them about where food comes from, basic nutrition, and how to stay healthy with fresh produce and plenty of exercise. We also:
Join in on the fun! Parents and families are encouraged to get involved with activities and excursions at Glassford Kindergarten. Children delight in having their family members participate in events or simply volunteering their time to help out in the garden, read to them, or talk to the other students about their job or hobbies.
Some of the other opportunities available to families include:
Children also connect with their local community with visits to the local primary school and library, museums and our local services such as police, paramedics, nursing, fire and emergency services.
We also actively participate in community programs and events, including Smiles 4 Miles and the Maffra Mardi Gras.
Our educators have the skills to provide a safe and nurturing environment for all children. They are experienced in working with children who live with a range of physical and intellectual disability as well as those who have experienced challenges and trauma.
