Situated in a beautiful rural setting, Scots Early Learning Collinsvale provides out of school hours care for children aged 4 and above.

Activities

Children enjoy a variety of indoor and outdoor play-based activities that allow them to interact, build relationships, and pursue individual interests. In addition to practising sustainability, we take children on a variety of exciting excursions out into the community to teach them about the environment.

At our early learning centre:

  • We encourage recycling
  • We recycle water
  • We promote sustainable living and encourage children to develop everyday sustainable practises
  • We take excursions that encourage children to care for the environment around them, including bush walks in the surrounding area
  • We love to go on excursions to the bowling alley, the movies and the National Park
  • The local fire unit comes to visit us
  • We participate in local fundraisers, fairs, and school activities
Health and wellbeing

Children are encouraged to take responsibility for what they put into their bodies through activities that promote healthy eating and growing their own produce. Fun and practical education about nutrition, food safety, and cultural foods give your child the knowledge and desire to make healthy choices throughout life.

  • We grow our own produce in our garden (e.g. herbs, vegetables, fruit)
  • We work sensitively with parents and families from a range of cultural backgrounds to ensure cultural foods meet food standard requirements
  • We educate children and their families about healthy eating and nutrition
  • We provide healthy afternoon tea and children assist in the preparation or cooking their afternoon tea
Family and community

Scots Early Learning Collinsvale is a place for nurturing family and community. We actively promote and encourage strong partnerships with families as this creates a wonderful sense of belonging that is vital to the learning environment of our children. We also regularly engage with community members and groups to consolidate your child’s learning and broaden their understanding of the world.

Parents and families are invited to participate in:

  • Celebrating significant cultural festivals and days together
  • Talking to the children about their job, hobbies or other interesting topics
  • Volunteering their time to provide support and resources for our programs
