Activities

At Warrnambool Uniting Church Occasional Care Centre, children have lots of fun opportunities to learn as they play indoors and outdoors. Children at our centre also develop a relationship of respect and stewardship for the environment. We promote sustainable living and help children develop everyday sustainable through activities such as recycling.

Health and wellbeing

We understand the importance of healthy eating in children’s early development. That’s why we provide highly nutritious food full of diversity and flavour made from fresh ingredients. We also guide parents in the right direction when it comes to making eating and nutrition choices for their children.

We practise and emphasise food safety and help to educate children and their families about healthy eating and nutrition.

Family and community

We believe in parents and families taking an active role in their children’s early learning development. We actively support partnerships with families to help the children develop a sense of belonging and connectivity which aids in their social and emotional development.

Parents often participate by:

  • Celebrating significant cultural festivals and days together
  • Talking to the children about their job, hobbies and other interesting topics
  • Volunteering their time to provide support and resources for our programs
  • Assisting with fundraising
