Health and wellbeing

Preparing children to make healthy choices and discover sustainable living practices is an important part of our daily activities. We offer lessons on food safety and cooking using the home-grown produce from our garden, allowing children to practically apply what they have learnt about nutrition and environmental sustainability.

Our health and wellbeing program includes:

  • Growing our own produce in our garden (e.g. herbs, vegetables, fruit)
  • Working sensitively with parents and families from a range of cultural backgrounds to ensure cultural foods meet food standard requirements
  • Offering progressive snack and lunchtime to empower children to ask for what they want and when

We also participate in community programs such as:

  • Healthy Together Victoria Achievement Program
  • Smiles 4 Miles, encouraging and promoting good oral health habits and healthy eating among children in our care
Family and community

Join in, get involved! All families are welcome at our early learning centre. We encourage you to participate in your child’s early learning experience in whatever ways you can. We invite parents to come along on excursions, help with fundraising events, give talks, and celebrate culturally significant events together.

We regularly engage with our community members and programs, including:

  • Local primary schools to assist with the transition to school
  • The local Children’s Network meeting
  • Local police, paramedics, fire brigade, and dentists, through excursions to their workplaces and visits to the centre
